Lauren is a Licensed Master’s Level Social Worker and received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work at Eastern Connecticut State University as well as her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in New York. At Columbia, Lauren specialized in Health, Mental Health, and Disability, where she dedicated her time to helping individuals and families dealing with health impairments alongside a host of psychosocial issues. Lauren has gained her experience from working in hospital settings as well as providing in-home and community-based therapy for children, adolescents, and families. Lauren continues to spend some of her time working at a community agency providing clinical therapy for children and families with severe psychiatric and behavioral challenges. Lauren is the child and adolescent specialist for the Behavioral Wellness Clinic, although she also treats adults as well.
Lauren uses evidence based treatments for diorders such as Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression, Social Anxiety, General Anxiety, Phobias, and eating disorders.
Through a person-centered, strengths-based approach, Lauren strives to empower individuals to overcome their challenges and become the best versions of themselves. Understanding that each individuals’ experiences are unique in nature is vital to providing sensitive and effective treatment. Lauren has a passion for social justice and helping others to navigate their challenges, and continues to be humbled by the incredibly strong individuals she meets each day. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys exercising and staying active. She loves the beach, playing on her softball league, and spending time with her family and two dogs.
